2. Start using Autoscriber Standalone App

Recording a consult, processing of data and customising the summary

Settings and asking permission beforehand

Before starting a recording with a patient, you have to fill in some details. These are:

  • Patient's name (to easily search back this consult later)
  • Spoken language in the consultation
  • Which template you want to use. Autoscriber takes care of adding the most commonly used formats such as SOAP and Standard Summary. If your most used format is not listed, please contact support@autoscriber
  • Whether you wish to add medical coding such as ICD-10, SNOMED-CT and soon ICPC to the summary
  • You must select the microphone you wish to record with
    • Note: Make sure you test your microphone first via the ‘Test Microphone' feature. If your microphone is working you will now see a green line moving next to the 'Test Microphone' button.
  • Finally, check that the patient has verbally agreed to record this conversation in Autoscriber.

Start a recording

You can now press "Start recording" Note that you will not start the consultation until the "Please wait a moment, your recording will start soon…” sign is gone and the consultation is actually being recorded. You will see that the conversation is being recorded by moving the sound waves in the page.

The conversation is now being transcribed, with a slight delay.

Pausing and ending your recording

You can press "Pause" during the consultation to, for example, not include parts of a conversation in the summary or if there is actually a pause in the consultation.

When the consultation is finished, you can press "Stop Recording”. The last part of your conversation will then be transcribed and a summary based on your chosen template will automatically follow.

Customizing the summary

You can create another summary in a different template from the same transcript if necessary. In addition, you can modify the summary manually by deleting, adding and rewriting text. You can also easily order the rewriting of a summary via the rewrite function.

Consider:

  • More or less detail
  • Different writing style
  • More extensive analysis
  • etc

Copying data

With a click on the button you can copy any data, in order to paste it quickly and conveniently into an EHR. Here you can choose ‘Summary', ‘Summary with transcript’ or just ‘Transcript’.

Save and open previous recordings

In the left side of the application you will find all past conversations, as well as a search function. So you can always access old conversations and summaries and even edit them later.
